The New Orleans Saints lost to the 49ers in the last seconds of their second playoff game.
I bet you were expecting something way worse and more serious then football drama right?
Well, before I moved here to Lafayette, it's true, I didn't understand the implications of NFL football. But through the years I've come to understand the significance of this sport in the lives of the people here.
It's more then just football. It's family. It's inspiration. It's hope.
I would have laughed and thought it so ridiculous if somebody would have told me that 10 years ago. But I guess you have to live it to understand it.
Football season for the Saints fans is over.
That means over are the much anticipated get togethers with friends and family. Over is the eating of my body weight in chips and dip. Over are the unified cheers and high-fives. Over is the getting CRUNK on our living room floor.
Until next year folks!
It sure was fun:-)
