Well this year, Giselle has channeled Martha Stewart yet again and produced some unique, sure to get ya boat loads of candy, costumes.
I'll let her tell you the rest...
I never was a big fan of Halloween myself. But since I've had kids, it's definitely on my list of my fave holidays. Last year, I got totally engrossed in my daughter Toulouse's Halloween costume to get me through a major speed-bump in my life. Perhaps to give me a sense of control while my life was turned upside down. What I did realize after I was done was that one, getting my frustrations out on a piece of fabric was somewhat therapeutic, and two that my daughter was freaking adorable in her spring chicken costume!
So, how do you top that? Well I found these two adorable costumes on the web. Tèche's costume comes from the Martha Stewart website.

Toulouse's I found on the Country Living website.

So I will definitely not take the credit for coming up with these brilliant ideas, but I absolutely adored reproducing them and giving them my own spin. And the kids and I got an absolute kick out of trying these costumes on every step of the way!
Now you might be thinking why on earth would this single mother of a one and a two year old with a side job as a doctor make her own costumes? I asked myself that same question quite a few times during this whole project, but the final result was well worth it.
I remember growing up, my mom would make our Halloween costumes and that is a tradition I want to pass on to my kids. To be able to stop the craziness of our busy reality, to make something with your own hands, to see the smile at the end and your kids feel so special is just so rewarding.
Check out the websites. All the templates are available as well as many more adorable ideas.
Never know, maybe one day Nicole will be designing Halloween costumes for my kids and I will be up all night putting her art to work! 'Till next year...
